Our finely detailed Iris Species Reticulata Joyce spring flowering bulbs produce minature lavender flowers with deep sky blue falls, yellow blotches and greyish brown stripes. Reticulata Joyce will bloom in late February or early March and are perfect for patio containers. You can catch the Iris Species Joyce's sweet fragrance best in a sunny spot with sandy soil. We recommend you plant your Iris Species Reticulata Joyce spring flowering bulbs at least four inches deep to prevent bulbs from splitting and to encourage flowering in the following season.

Planting Guide
Hints and tips...
Unpack on arrival
- Check order is correct and quality is as expected.
- Store in a cool, dry and dark place with good air circulation.
- Planting
should be done as soon as possible.

Soil condition:
Soil should not be too wet and have good drainage but
should have good moisture retention as bulbs are not deep rooted.
Soil structure can be improved by adding course sand or well rotted
organic material. The ideal PH level is approximately 6.5.

fertilizer is not essential but a dressing of a high potash and phosphate
fertilizer such as bone meal or hoof and bone applied before planting
may be beneficial.

Planting:
As a rule of thumb bulbs should be planted at least two and a
half times the height of the bulb and far enough apart as not to touch
each other. Plant bulbs in small groups of 6-8 bulbs. It is preferable to
plant before the risks of frost so that rooting can take place quickly.
After rooting they are quite frost tolerant.

When planting in grass areas mowing should not take place until the
leaves have died off (about six weeks from planting.) Do not tie up or
knot the foliage as this cuts off food supply.

Caution:
Bulbs can be toxic and should not be eaten. Some types may cause
skin irritation therefore gloves should be worn.
