The dull summer has created the perfect conditions for moss, according to Graham Porter of the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
Moss on garden paths can be cleared by Algon Organic Path Cleaner, a product that is also suitable for decking.
As it is an organic product it can be used safely around the garden, while the Karcher K2900 Pressure Washer is also great for moss busting.
In addition to cleaners, Mr Porter advised that increasing light levels in the area could help the problem so recommended "lifting up the crowns of trees and cutting back overgrown shrubs".
"Occasional applications of garden lime will make your soil more alkaline which deters moss, but this is of little use if you have acid-loving plants in the garden," he added.
In related news, the BBC has reported that volunteers have commenced work to restore Cerne Abbas - the iconic chalk giant in Dorset - as the ancient fertility symbol was looking a lot less fertile after became obscured by vegetation and moss.
